Hi there! I hope your day is going well.
I'm staying with a Spring theme again and this time I've gone all lavender.
The beautiful papers are by Pion Design - 'Scent of Lavender' collection. Generally when crafting I include so many elements and media that I end up covering a whole lot of detail but this time I held back so as not to hide these lovely papers. I've matted them between cream cardstock.
Have backed the gorgeous strip of lace with a darker shade of paper. It echoes the subtle lace in the background paper. Sprayed some dried flowers lavender and tucked them underneath the lace band to mirror the hanging lavender at top. Used a Magnolia die, 'Old Swedish Lace', to cut narrow purple strips for each side of main square.
I've been hoarding the cream chipboard frame for ages. I think it's by Tattered Angels - the bird image fitted perfectly by draping some of the longer fronds to front of frame. Filled the frame with Judikins Diamond Glaze which dried to a nice hard gloss.
Punched out all the little butterflies and added either roses or pearls to decorate them. Inked most edges with Distress Ink in 'Dusty Concord' and dotted pearls at corners to complete. That's it!
Thank-you so very much for taking the time and for any comments you might leave. Thanks also to some new followers - you are most appreciated, especially when Google seems to want to constrain your numbers!
Have a lovely week to come,
Nicola x

Hi Nicola....oh wow! Another beautiful card! This is exquisite, Nicola. Pion has such lovely papers but YOU really do make them look so amazing with your designs. This card is so delicate. I'm not normally a purple-ish lover but your additions of the cream and touches of green. The delicate little flowers and pearls are the perfect embellishments. Just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThis is delightful, Nicola - I just love the pearly butterflies fluttering around, and I see those tiny flowers are being put to good use. Off to see what else you've been doing...

Apologies for my lateness but it has given me time to spend taking in the beauty of this stunning card Nicola! I do love those Pion papers but your embellishing takes them to a whole new level. I love how you put the darker shade under the lace, it just brings the lace to life. The punched butterflies are delightful and the bird focal point is a real stunner. Completely enthralling! Hugs, Anne xx
