I'm thinking this card is too busy but the one I made before it ended up in the bin so I better not chuck another one! Just one of those days!!
Papers: An all Swedish lineup from Pion Design, Maja Design and Inkido (trying to use up various offcuts)
Dies: Sizzix 'Reindeer Flight', Die-namics 'Fishtail Flags' and 'Circles', Memory Box 'Berry Sprig', 'Joy' is from WPlus9 'Hand Lettered Holiday'
Punch: Martha Stewart edger
Stencil: Memory Box 'Tiny Snowflakes'
Media / Textures: Stampendous Frantage, Texture paste for stencilling which is then coated with Ranger glitter in 'clear rock candy', Krylon Leafing pen 18ct gold, Clear Crackle Accents on deer, Glossy Accents on diecut text, Splattered inks by Ecoline and Winsor & Newton, Prima / Finnabair Micro beads in 'Copper' and 'Bronze', Waco pen for 'snow' beneath Robins
Other: Berry embellishments, bell around deer's neck (decorated with stickles), velvet ric-rac and twine from stash

Nicola, this is absolutely beautiful... you have whisked us away into such a lovely Christmas wonderland. There are so many elements to adore, but my favorite facets are the snowflake stenciling and that majestic reindeer. Gorgeous work, my talented friend. I am attempting another return to crafting and commenting... it seems I only manage one week before pain sets in too deeply. It is frustrating, but I am thankful to be visiting you today. I hope you have a wonderful rest of the week. :o)

It is gorgeous, the prancing deer looks amazing, your layering looks wonderful and your attention to detail is always fantastic - like the snow under the robins - such a great finishing touch and those micro beads make the little twigs look so realistic! ReplyDeleteAre you kidding...there is no such thing as too busy! This card is over the top gorgeous! I LOVE the designs on the deer, and love all the twigs and berries! So elegant too!

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking how in earth does she achieve this and you're thing it's too busy? I struggle adding more on my cards, my style is an annoying in between of CAS and heavily decorated, I'd be so proud if achieving anything like this. It's gorgeous!!

WOW (all in capital letters)! This is a fantastically amazing card! I am stunned at how much detail you were able to incorporate and I love the vintage look of this card. ReplyDeleteOh, Nicola - this is like a medieval tapestry come to life! Fabulous colours and dimension - amazing composition with those berries and branches creating a swirl of movement around the leaping deer. It's wonderful!
